A risk factor can be defined as anything that can contribute to increasing the person’s risk to acquire a disease. There have been several studies made to uncover the various risk factors of having breast cancer. This type of cancer is deadly and mostly affects women.
In reality, the real cause of cancer is unknown. The same thing applies with breast cancer. It is also not contagious that it cannot be acquired from one person after exposure.
The risk factors, however, were found to be highly relevant for the development of the condition. Some of these are genetics, race, exposure to radiation therapy, obesity, alcoholism, cigarette smoking, poor diet, and others.
If we will look at the risk factors, it can be concluded that any unhealthy habit that can make the body unwell can lead to diseases not just only breast cancer. Hence, it is vital to ensure that the body is well cared of from food, avoidance of vices, physical activities and exposure to various elements that can weaken the immunity. The few risk factors that cannot be controlled would be genes, race, and history, other than that, it is beyond one’s control.
In today’s modern world, a self-breast examination is already educated among women. This is to make sure that each and everyone would be aware of the changes that may happen to their body especially the breast. This way, the condition might be prevented before it reaches the late stage.
