CGF or Chlorella Growth Factor is a very common ingredient of most multivitamins for kids. Chlorella as its main component is a type of algae that lives in freshwater. The entire plant is used to produce

supplements and medicines.

Chlorella mainly grows in Taiwan and Japan. It is processed and made to tablets or liquid extracts. This has the CGF or Chlorella growth factor that is a water-soluble extract from chlorella containing chemicals like proteins, peptides, amino acids, sugars, vitamins, nucleic acids.

How does it work?

Chlorella is a good source of fats, protein, carbohydrates, chlorophyll, fiber, vitamins, minerals. It also has antioxidants that are good at keeping cholesterol level low.


This is used for preventing iron deficiency when pregnant. It could be helpful in reducing anemia risk. Considering it is used as supplements, more evidence and research is still required to rate its effectiveness to kids and adults taking it.
