Autism is a condition characterized as a complex neurobehavioral type including social interaction impairment, communication skills, a developmental language in combination with repetitive & rigid behaviors. These are the range of symptoms, it is now called as ASD or autism spectrum disorder. Aside from the broad symptoms that it covers, it also affects impairment levels and skills. It can range in severity from a handicap which can limit their normal life to a destructive disability. With this kind of condition, it may definitely need an institutional care.


Kids with this kind of condition, it is likely that they have issues to communicate with others. They have issues to understand how other people feel and think. This can make it complicated for them to express how they feel or what they want in gestures, touch, words, and facial expressions. If a child has it and happens to be sensitive may be troubled or in pain by smells, touches, sounds or even sights which can seem normal for others.


Autistic patients may also have stereotyped/repetitive body gestures like pacing, flapping of hand or rocking. They may have responses that are not normal to others, resists change with routines, object attachments, or behavior that are self-injurious. There are instances when patients seem not to notice the presence of others near them. There may also be seizure episodes which may not happen until they reach adolescence.


People with autism are impaired in cognition to some degree. As opposed to a more usual impairment in cognition that can be seen with even delays in all developmental aspects. There are even those who show not even developmental skill. There may be particular areas that they have issues with such as the ability to related or connect to other people. They may also have unusual developed skills in some areas like creating sounds, drawing, memorization or math problem-solving.


Typically the symptoms of autism during the first three years of their life. There are patients who seemed to show signs right from birth. Others may develop just normal at first. This can suddenly slip to symptoms when they reach 18 to 36 months. It is now seen that there are people who do not show any symptoms of communication disorder until they require environmental demands to exceed their skills. It is more common to occur in boys than in girls. The chances of being autistic do not affect lifestyle, family income or educational levels.

    Autism spectrum disorder impacts the nervous system and affects the overall cognitive, emotional, social and physical health of the affected individual. It now affects 1 in 59 children and 1 in 37 boys. Its prevalence figures are growing and is one of the fastest-growing developmental disorders, which cost a family $60,000 a year on average. Boys are nearly five times more likely than girls to have autism and there is no medical detection or cure for autism.
