The inflammation of the tonsils is called tonsillitis. The tonsils are two oval-shaped pads of tissue located at the back of the throat. Some of the signs and symptoms are swollen tonsils, difficulty to swallow and sore throat.
The most typical causes are due to infection and bacterial infections. When there is proper treatment provided, what matters most is for accurate diagnosis. There is a surgery to remove the tonsils called tonsillectomy. This procedure is performed when all other treatments failed and more serious complications are diagnosed.
When to see a doctor’s
if the child has a sore throat that occurs within 24-48hours, fatigue, extreme weakness, it is time to get proper diagnosis and treatment from the doctor.
Immediate care should also be given if the child already has difficulty breathing, drooling and extreme difficulty to swallow.
Personal hygiene and cleanliness must always be maintained so as to prevent the spread of tonsillitis caused by virus and bacteria.
