All the muscles in our bodies are connected by the fascia, a connective tissue that attaches all our organs. Over time, mainly because of overuse or injury, fascia can become unhealthy. Foam rolling is said to keep the fascia healthy by circulating oxygenated blood through the body. If you feel sluggish and you move with difficulties, your fascia is probably overused and needs repair.

Who should use a foam roller?
Whether you’re a professional athlete, recreational runner, or you exercise just over the weekend, you could benefit from foam rolling.

What is it good for?
Foam rolling is great if you want to increase flexibility and range of motion if you want to enhance performance, or speed up recovery.

How and how often you should do it?
Rolling even for one minute is better than no rolling at all. There are a few ways to use a foam roller, the most renowned being cross friction (classic rolling) and spans. When you have a tender spot, move right and left on your foam roller. This move is called spanning.
