It’s been said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and it’s true in a way! When it comes to having breakfast, this healthy habit has long-term benefits. Eating breakfast can reduce high blood pressure, obesity, heart diseases, as well as diabetes. Breakfast is a great occasion to eat together as a family when possible, at least on weekends.

Nutritious morning meal tends to set the tone for the entire day and promotes weight maintenance and weight loss by keeping blood glucose levels and metabolism in check. Eating as soon as you start your day provides the necessary energy that we all need to perform all our tasks during the day. Skipping this important meal can lead to exhaustion, hunger, as well as lack of focus, especially for students.

Apart from providing us with energy, breakfast foods are good sources of important nutrients such as calcium, iron and B vitamins as well as protein and fibre.
