NAMZARIC (memantine and donepezil hydrochlorides) is a once-a-day prescription drug used in the treatment of moderate to severe Alzheimer’s disease in those patients who are taking donepezil hydrochloride 10 mg (the active ingredient in Aricept). There is no evidence that this medication prevents or slows the underlying disease process in patients with Alzheimer’s disease.

This is a once-a-day capsule that works on two pathways in the brain in fighting the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease. The medication may improve mental function also known as cognition, improve overall brain function, and slow down worsening of the Alzheimer’s disease symptoms.

This medication should not be taken by anyone who has an allergy to memantine HCl, donepezil HCl, medicines with piperidines, or any of the Namzaric ingredients. If your loved one has heart problems, stomach ulcer, bladder, liver or kidney problems, make sure to notify their doctor. Also, tell your doctor about other medications your loved one with Alzheimer’s disease is taking, as Namzaric may react with some of them and cause side-effects.

Namzaric contains a combination of donepezil and memantine, in which donepezil improves the function of nerve cells in the brain and works by preventing the breakdown of a chemical called acetylcholine. People with dementia usually have lower levels of this chemical, which is important for the processes of memory, thinking, and reasoning.

Namzaric is used to treat moderate to severe confusion (dementia) related to Alzheimer’s disease. By the way, contact a specialist is important before making any decision. It would be the best way as always. Thanks for the detail description.
