The transition between seasons is the time when most people get sick. Hospitals are full of children and elderly people – the two populations most sensitive to viruses and bacteria. Even though germs are literally everywhere, it’s possible to avoid getting sick even though everyone around you might be.
1. Avoid touching your face
Touching your eyes, nose, and especially mouth is the easiest way for the germs to enter your system.
2. Wash your hands often
If you shake hands with someone, wash your hands immediately after if possible. If not, “wash“ them with an alcohol-based sanitizer or wipe them using a tissue.
3. Get enough sleep
In the season of colds and flu, it’s important to get enough rest. If you’re feeling under the weather, you’re more susceptible to germs as the body isn’t fighting hard enough. Aim to anywhere between eight and 10 hours per night.
4. Get a shot
If you are that person who catches a cold an gets the flu easily, experts advise getting you shot early on.
5. Boost your immune system
The best way to prevent the flu is by boosting up your immune system with plenty of fruits and vegetables. This is much easier than fighting it off.
