walking

Walking is amazing not only for our physical but also our mental health. The best thing about it is the fact that it’s free and requires minimal effort but provides numerous benefits.

A few recent studies from the University of Exeter found that a short walk lasting only 15 minutes can reduce chocolate cravings and even reduce the number of sweets that you eat daily.

Apparently, a scientist has also found a positive link between walking and dementia. It is said that walking can reduce the risk of getting Alzheimer’s disease. People who are active throughout their younger years rarely get Alzheimer’s.

A slow walk can also boost the immune system. This is quite useful, especially in the season of flu. A study conducted on more than 1000 people confirmed this. People who walked daily for just half an hour had almost 50 percent fewer sick days than people who worked out once a week or never.

As you can see, the benefits of walking are many, and it is simple and easy.

You do not need to run marathons or triathlons to get a significant health improvement. Instead you get a lot of fitness and emotional gains from a small amount of daily walking. You do not need to run marathons or triathlons to get a significant health improvement.
