dry shampoo

Have you ever strolled across your local pharmacy aisle and came across dry shampoo? It comes as a powder or spray and its main objective is to absorb the excess oil in your hair to give it a fresher appearance. This is great for people who want to hold on to their hairstyle for more than a day or those who haven’t got time to do a regular wash.

What else do you need to know about dry shampoo?

When using it for the first time, identify only the really greasy areas of your dry hair. Spray the product at least 6 inches from your scalp and massage evenly to distribute to the roots. Brush through patches that have too much of the product with care. Dab some moisturiser on the tips if it becomes too dry.

What should you look out for when using it?

Dry shampoo is a temporary solution to freshen your hair. You still need to wash your hair regularly as the product has the tendency to cause buildup. It will also appear white after application so let it sit a bit before you comb through.

There’s nothing worse than getting a beautiful blowout and having to wash it out the next day because of a greasy scalp. Thankfully, the hair gods created dry shampoo so we can keep our blowout bouncy and fresh for days on end. Not only does dry shampoo save our perfectly styled hair from a wash it also saves us lazy ladies some time and energy in the morning. But, keep in mind that do not touch your hair after applying dry shampoo to your strands because the natural oils in your fingertips will only make your hair oily again.

I’m not a big fan of dry shampoos because of the chemicals, and not only this but I find that baby powder does better job than these expensive shampoos.
